All axes of OpenArm KER use a common encoder module. This advanced module design integrates a hardware limit, bearings, a magnetic encoder, and a driver, enabling the module to be applied to a wide range of systems.

Daisy-Chain Communication

The encoder modules support daisy-chain connection with individually assigned IDs. This allows even a 7+1 DoF robot arm controller to be configured as a simple system with minimal wiring.

Custom Configurations

The encoder module integrates a magnetic encoder, bearings, a hardware limit, and a driver board into a compact body, while providing high mounting flexibility that allows it to be fixed from multiple directions.

By taking advantage of this flexibility and designing custom frames to connect multiple modules, it can also serve as a foundation for building custom input devices tailored to specific applications.
